The sound of Latin, spoken, is so very beautiful. The only sound more beautiful than the pure sound of Latin is you, Fr. Gonzales, saying Mass in Latin. We all hope and pray that we will be so very blessed to be able to hear that one day soon.

May our Lord Jesus Christ bless us all abundantly.

I did not grow up with the option to study Latin, but I did study Spanish...so now when I read Latin, wheras I can pick out a lot of the meaning, I can't pronounce it correctly. I inflict a lot of Spanish pronunciation upon Latin which is really disturbing to me. Anyone who has ever studied languages knows why!

(I can also understand some French and Italian - in writing - via my learning in Spanish! LOL. What a way to confuse friends!)

I need a mentor because I really want to learn how to pray in Latin. There is power in Latin that just doesn't exist in English or any other language. Unfortunately, Father, you can't help me with that and my computer currently doesn't support audio files.

But I appreciate any written lessons you can provide in the interim. Do you have any plans to come to MN to teach Latin to the laity? :-)

Audio parts of the TLM will follow as 2.0+ after the 1.0+ series.

Any knowledge of the Roman language should assist with the Latin of course.

My Latin has a definite Spanish slant.
