Sports, Catholicism, and Culture: The History of Notre Dame Football

"A familiar scene: deep into college football season, Notre Dame is ranked high in national polls and fans hold out hope for yet another national championship. It’s a fitting time to recall the history of Notre Dame football — a history that is about more than just athletics."

The movie "Rudy" -- about a boy who who follows his dream to attend Notre Dame and play football there -- has inspired lots 'o sermons that I have heard, in lots 'o parts of the country. Kids love the movie; so do adults.
