It's Fiesta Time!

Father Gonzales and friends ready for Fiesta.
(He's the one with the cane and hat.)

The parish will hold it's annual Feast Day celebration in honor of its patron, Saint Charles Borromeo on Saturday and Sunday, November 4 and 5. This year's event, "A Taste of Peoria," includes an international array of food and drink, hourly door prizes, a full schedule of entertainment, children's games, business and organization information booths, raffles, carnival rides, a youth soccer tournament, and a whole lotta fun! The 85-degree Arizona weather is perfect for the outdoor event. (It's a dry heat!) The Feasting begins with Mass on Saturday at noon.

What a terrific idea for a fete. Wouldn't it be great to invite all the attendees back to the rectory for a big pancake breakfast that you cook?

Sorry, I have celiac spue; so I can't come near wheat flour. Hold the pancakes, bring on the bacon!

Sorry about your disorder. Bacon is not very good for you -- but it is delicious! And the aroma is fabulous. Maybe one of the next Great World Inventions will be Aroma Blogs. You know, frankincense and bacon.

Mmm, incense.

Bee's wax, incense, and furniture polish ... childhood memories.

Funny how smells can immediately bring you back to another point in time. Or they can have you sneezing and wheezing. ... 85 degrees?
