The return of the Throne

Do you like my chair? Hasn't been used in over 40 years. Just like Latin, Gregorian Chant, and ad orientem, it was thrown out the "open windows" with the bath water.

Hear, O Lord, our prayers, and our petitions, and deliver us for thy own sake: and grant that we may find favour in the sight of them that have led us away: -- 2 Baruch 2:14 Douay-Rheims

I do not understand why this of all things needs to be reintroduced. Sometimes I fear this pope is all too retro.

How does the title of "Servant of the servants of God" work coming from a throne I wonder?

First the throne, maybe the tiara next? I hope so!

First the throne, then the tiara, then the sedia gestatoria being carried through St. Peters.
