Good news!

Vocations Are Up at English-Speaking Seminaries

A number of reasons are given for the upturn, but he most significant are believed to be stronger bishops and the papal transition last year.

ROMERome’s largest English-speaking national seminaries are detecting an increase in numbers of vocations after a less fruitful period in the early part of the decade.

The Pontifical North American College, the Venerable English College and the Pontifical Irish College are all reporting higher numbers of candidates for the priesthood compared to a few years ago...

I am a bit of a skeptic with that sort of news. Could it be they are seeing rising numbers because there have been quite a few seminaries closed in recent times? We have a lovely seminary here in Mount Angel Oregon and while it keeps telling the press its numbers are up, the numbers are not in favor of our local Archdiocese at all.
