A Veteran's Day Prayer
As we celebrate Veteran's Day this year, we remember all those men and women who have served and continue to serve in our Armed Forces. We remember their sacrifice, and appreciate all they have done to secure our freedom and to keep America one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Dear Heavenly Father, Creator of all life, Your Son Jesus promised, "You shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free." -John 8:32
Thank You for the self-giving sacrifice of the men and women who have served our country in the cause of truth, freedom, and peace. Help us to remember them and to never take them or Your gift of freedom for granted.
Dear Lord, please bring all our nation's veterans who have died into Your heavenly kingdom, and console their families with Your unending love.
Send Your healing power on all our wounded veterans and help us to care for them and their families. May the souls of our departed veterans, and the souls of all our faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, Your Son. Amen.
"God will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing or pain, for the old order has passed away."-Revelation 21:4
On behalf of our Autom (Company) family we wish you a Happy Veteran's Day!

My mother particulary liked your use of the reasons -- truth, freedom and peace -- you chose to express in this prayer. She said to continue with your writing. She said that what you said was very meaningful, that there is not enough appreciation shown for the daily sacrifices that our service men and women making to keep us free as well as help people in other nations to achieve that freedom. She noted that although we know what these people are doing for us and others, it is so easy to forget. (This is per a long distance call.)
