Everything old is new again
Visit the website of St. Raymond of Peñafort Roman Catholic Church in Springfield, VA to see a nice blend of contemporary and traditional architecture and appointments in their new church. The parish must be commended for its attempt to integrate the antique font and other “castoffs.” In my opinion, an altar rail would have been an excellent addition. Too bad the freestanding altar seems obtrusive.
Dear Father, The high altar is pretty, but why no altar rail. It is much more reverant to kneel when recieving our Lord in the Holy Eucharist. It is a shame that the free standing altar is in the way of everything. Father thank you for standing up for theTradition of the Catholic Church in offering up the Classical Rite of holy mass. You must be up against some serious opposition.Christ through you will be the Devil down, though. Off the subject Father. My wife was born in the Cuban city of Pinar Del Rio,in 1962.She can barely remember the Traditional mass.Do you know what the state of the Classical Rite is in this beleagured country? What do the churches look like? Thank you for all your Godly work. You are always in our prayers. Via con Dios,Viva Cristo Rey! Sincerely,Dan and Elena Hunter.
